President Daniel del Castillo, MHSA
Daniel has served as Regional Executive Director of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of San Juan and Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Manatí since 2018, after holding the position as Executive Director of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of San Juan, formerly known as HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of San Juan, since 2007.
He served as President and CEO of Casa Primavera Inc. and held various leadership positions at Pavia Health Inc., including serving as Associate Administrator and Interim Administrator
for inpatient operations at Pavia Hato Rey Hospital, a 160-bed acute hospital. He held the Presidency of the Board of Governors of the College of Health Services Administrators 2015-2016 and Treasurer of the Board of Directors of the Puerto Rico Hospital Association, among other leadership positions in the associations. He currently holds the position of President of the Fundación Hospital Pediátrico. He earned a Master's Degree in Health Services Administration from the University of Puerto Rico, School of Public Health.

Treasurer Beatriz García González
Mother, wife, friend and philanthropist.
She graduated from Villanova University in Philadelphia, with a concentration in Marketing and International Trade. She began her career at Banco Popular, until the Museo de Arte de Ponce sparked her love for nonprofits. She joined the group as the Events and Fundraising Manager. After other projects and a break from work to be with her children, her big heart led her to accept the challenge of creating, together with other volunteers, the Fundación Hospital Pediátrico. During its beginnings, in 2014, she led, was a spokesperson and managed the Foundation to ensure its solid future. In 2020, she returned to using her talent as a communicator within the group Open Schools Now, paying attention to the importance of children returning to the classroom, during the pandemic, in a safe and sustained way, for the sake of their mental health. She enjoys the exercises, sharing with her family and friends and is happy to continue supporting the mission of the Fundación Hospital Pediátrico.
Secretary Ingrid Oms Maldonado, Esq.
Ms. Oms joined Picó Advisors LLC in June 2001 for the practice of corporate and commercial law and real estate law.
Ms. Oms currently serves as a member and Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Fundación Hospital Pediátrico, a
Puerto Rico non-profit corporation, and has served as President and Co-Chair of the Annual Committee on Cultural Activities
and as a member of the Golf Tournaments Committee, both benefiting the San Ignacio de Loyola College Scholarship Fund, a private school in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Prior to joining the Firm, Ms. Oms worked as an in-house counsel for HIASC Corporation, a health insurance consulting and healthcare management services firm, from 1999 to 2001. Concurrently with that position and prior to that, Ms. Oms was an associate at Nachman Guillemard & Rebollo, a law firm specializing in civil litigation, from 1997 to 2000. Prior to that, Ms. Oms was Special Assistant to the Honorable Pedro Pierluisi, Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, during 1995 and 1996, and an associate in the Corporate Department of Axtmayer Adsuar Muñiz & Goyco, during 1994 and 1995.
Oms was born in Buffalo, New York, on June 7, 1968. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, laude, from Yale University in 1990 and a law degree, magna laude, from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law in 1993. Ms. Oms is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and is a licensed notary public in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Ms. Oms is fluent in English and Spanish and has a working knowledge of French.

María Teresa has been Counsel at McConnell Valdés since
May 2017 after having been a partner at Fiddler, González & Rodríguez, CSP for almost 25 years. Prior to practicing private practice, she was a legal officer to the Honorable Federico Hernández Denton, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico. As an attorney, she concentrates her practice in the area of intellectual property. She is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and in the Federal Court of Appeals for the 1st. Boston Circuit. She was a member of the Examining Board of Candidates for the Practice of Law of the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico until 2009 and Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Alliance for a Drug-Free Puerto Rico until 2015. She is currently Director of the Fundación Hospital Pediátrico. She obtained a Bachelor's Degree and Juris Doctor, Magna Laude from the University of Puerto Rico and a Master's Degree in Law from Columbia University in New York City.

Roberto joined the Board of Directors of the Fundación Hospital Pediátrico in 2018. In his professional life, Roberto focuses on helping startups, SMEs and individuals plan and structure the establishment and growth of their business in Puerto Rico, with special attention to the tax opportunities offered by Puerto Rico. Roberto is admitted to the practice of law in Puerto Rico and at the federal level and has more than 10 years of experience serving in positions in law firms, government and the private sector. Roberto earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Puerto Rico Mayagüez Campus and is a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico School of Law. In addition to his role at the Fundación Hospital Pediátrico, Roberto dedicates his time and knowledge as a mentor to growing small businesses and business accelerators such as Parallel 18. Born in Mayagüez, Roberto currently resides in San Juan with his wife and daughter with whom he enjoys his free time.
Director Francisco Arraiza, MD
Dr. Francisco J Arraiza Antonmattei is a Specialist in Diagnostic Radiology in Arecibo, Puerto Rico. He graduated with honors from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine in 1997. He has more than 25 years of diverse experience, especially in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology.
Director Irene Rial
Mother and grandmother, entrepreneur, documentary filmmaker, writer, certified yoga teacher, and philanthropist—she is a committed social activist.

Apart from her extensive career of social work through the various manifestations of her art as a writer and documentary filmmaker, Irene Rial Bou is a leader in raising awareness about wellness and health in the food industry in Puerto Rico, as the creator of Health 4 All, in Econo Rial.

Philanthropic Alliances
• As an activist for children's rights, she actively collaborated with Solange Pierre, a Dominican Haitian activist, to find the Leogane Children's Home in Haiti, six months after the devastating earthquake in 2010, which terribly affected Haiti's child population.
• She is a member of the Commission on the Rights of the Child of the Puerto Rico Bar Association.
• Collaborates with the Home for Abused Children, Casa Concredo San Agustín del Coquí, in Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico.
• Also supports fundraising for various foundations that provide aid to those most in need in Puerto Rico.

Sonia Montes is General Manager of Regional Sales for Central America and the Caribbean Region of Latin America and Caribbean Division of FedEx Express. Based in Puerto Rico, Sonia Montes leads a diverse team of 62 professionals and oversees the implementation of the company's sales strategy in Central America, Puerto Rico, Caribbean countries, and GSP's sales organization for Latin America.
Montes has more than 30 years in the courier cargo industry. She began her career at FedEx Express in 1998 as an account executive. In 2006 she was promoted to her current position, which she considers one of the main achievements of her professional career. Prior to joining FedEx, Montes worked at DHL and Expeditors Corporation.

Hector J. Rios La Luz serves as Vice President of Affiliations and Billing for Medical Card System. (MCS). He is responsible for directing affiliation operations for the Medicare Advantage and Commercial lines of business, billing for organizations that have their employees' health plan with MCS, and other areas.
He previously worked in several companies that belong to the prestigious Fortune 500 list such as Humana Healthcare and Fresenius Kidney Care. Rios La Luz has more than 20 years of experience in the health insurance and health services industry in local and national companies. In 2015 he was appointed to his current position, where he has served successfully for 7 years.
Committed to the community, Rios La Luz belongs to Boards of Directors of For-Profit Organizations such as the Examining Board of Health Services Administrators of Puerto Rico (official appointment of the Governor of Puerto Rico), Board of the College of Health Services Administrators of Puerto Rico and recently appointed to the Board of the University Pediatric Hospital.
Rios La Luz has always been committed to the health of the people of Puerto Rico, the importance of education and sports, he calls it the triad of success.
He has a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a specialization in Finance and Accounting from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus. In addition, he holds a master’s degree in health services administration from the University of Puerto Rico, School of Public Health of the Medical Sciences Campus. Since 2005 he has been a Health Service Administrator.
Director Karina Iglesias, CPA
Ms. Iglesias has served on the board of directors of the Children's Hospital Foundation since 2017. She graduated from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 2002 where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and Finance. She served as a member of the audit team at Deloitte, LLP for 4 years and then continued her career as SEC's financial reporting manager for Popular, Inc. for the next 4 years. She is currently self-employed and serves clients in the medical accounting and billing industry. The most important thing is that she is the wife of Jorge Antonio and the mother of Sebastián and Jorge Antonio.
Director Eduardo Lockwood, Eng.
Eduardo Lockwood Benet has over 20 years of experience as
a mechanical designer and over 5 years of experience in applied HVAC sales. He had the opportunity to receive extensive
on-the-job training in areas such as load estimating, duct design, piping design, equipment selection, applied engineering, thermal wheels, desuperheaters, control valves, DDC controls, vapor control exhaust, air conditioning equipment, installation and troubleshooting as they arise. He has been in the construction design business since 1998 and has extensive knowledge in mechanical and electrical infrastructure for new and remodeling projects. He currently works as a Managing Partner for Juncos Construction, LLC General Contractors.
Prior to working at Juncos Construction, LLC, Eduardo Lockwood Benet was Director of Operations for Kool Link Systems. He was in charge of all sales and operations of a district cooling plant that was to be developed at the Puerto Rico Convention Center. Mr. Lockwood also held the position of Business Development Manager for CH2MHILL, San Juan, Puerto Rico. In CH2MHILL he was in charge of engineering, procurement, construction, validation and administration services (EPCVM) sales as well as coordination and supervision of quotes and negotiations with respect to Pharma-Bio and industrial business. Eduardo had previously worked as a project manager for Technical Industrial Sales, Inc., Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. At TIS he held the position of project manager for all engineering, marketing and business development sales, as well as assembling and installing industrial equipment.
Eduardo has developed extensive experience in the application and design of thermal storage, modular building construction, custom air handling units, cooling towers, pumps, VAV systems, clean room, and several other pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and industrial HVAC&R disciplines.
Director Adriana Marzán, MD
Dr. Adriana Marzán is a doctor in Gastroenterology. Our beloved Dr. Marzán has a distinguished medical training from the Central Caribbean University School of Medicine with a fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology from VA Caribbean Healthcare System, after having done her residency in Internal Medicine at the same institution. We are very fortunate to have the professionalism, dynamism, medical perspective and human quality of our beloved Dr. Marzán. Her expertise is focused on the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal diseases, using cutting-edge technology and providing personalized care. Dr. Marzán accepted the invitation to be part of our board of directors with great pride and impetus as it gives her the opportunity to give back to her community for her knowledge and collaborate with distinguished board members who share her interests in providing better health and wellness opportunities for the Puerto Rican family. Director Zulma Berrios, MD
Zulma M. Berrios, MD, MBA, CPE, FAAPL, currently serves as the Medical Director of West Kendall Baptist Hospital. Baptist Health South Florida, with 10 hospitals and more than 50 outpatient facilities, spanning four counties from the Keys to the Palm Beach area, is the largest faith-based and nonprofit health care organization in the region. Dr. Berríos is a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico, School of Medicine, and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the San Juan City Hospital. She is a board-certified gynecologist who began her medical career in the United States Air Force, reaching the rank of Major and receiving the Air Force Medal of Appreciation.
Dr. Berrios earned an MBA in Healthcare from Florida International University. She is a 'Black Belt certified' in Lean
Six Sigma and a simulation instructor in Patient Safety. She has served on professional boards and medical societies, including the Puerto Rican Professional Association of South Florida and the ACOG Committee on Patient Safety and Quality Improvement, District XII.
Dr. Berrios has a strong commitment to helping better educate the communities she serves, providing reliable and easy-to-understand medical information, acting as a spokesperson on television, radio, and social media platforms, in English and Spanish. Dr. Berrios has a passion for service and philanthropy. In the aftermath of Hurricane Maria, she served as the medical leader for a mission to Puerto Rico and spearheaded philanthropic support for the delivery of medicines, medical equipment, and supplies. She is a medical champion of the Water Safety Campaign, providing free swimming lessons to hundreds of children in need, this effort is now in its eighth year.
Director Dra. Liliana Morales Pérez
Dr. Morales Pérez graduate of the School of Medicine at the University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus, she completed her Pediatrics residency at the University Pediatric Hospital (HOPU), where she earned her certification from the Pediatrics Board.
After graduating, she was appointed Chief Resident and joined HOPU’s faculty, where she stood out by leading initiatives such as the first 5K benefiting the hospital. Together with Dr. Fernández-Sein and other faculty members, she co-founded Fundación Hospital Pediátrico, which is now one of the most significant philanthropic institutions supporting the hospital.
Driven by a vision to expand her impact, Dr. Morales moved to the United States to train in pediatric subspecialties unavailable in Puerto Rico. During five years at the prestigious Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, she completed training in:

She also earned a Master’s in Public Health with a concentration in Global Health, adding strong academic credentials to her clinical expertise.
Upon returning to Puerto Rico, Dr. Morales took on a pivotal role as faculty in HOPU’s Emergency Room and spearheaded innovative projects, including securing a federal grant to develop prehospital pediatric protocols and train paramedics in managing pediatric emergencies. She currently collaborates with the Puerto Rico Emergency Medical Services Bureau, offering free training to paramedics across the island.
In January 2024, she was appointed Medical Director of the Emergency Room at the University Pediatric Hospital, further solidifying her leadership and commitment to children’s health.
Dr. Morales is the only Pediatric Emergency Medicine Specialist in Puerto Rico with certifications in Global Health and Pediatric Ultrasound, in addition to a Master’s in Public Health and dual Board certification.
Founding Member Alicia Fernández Sein, MD
Pediatric Intensivist, Retired Professor of the UPR School of Medicine.
Forty years ago, as a pediatric intern, Dr Fernández Sein pushed the first stretcher to the newly opened University Pediatric Hospital. Since then, her professional and personal life has been tied to the Hospital. After completing her specialty in Pediatrics, she joined the faculty of the School of Medicine, becoming an educator of hundreds of students and residents in Pediatrics and in the subspecialty of Pediatric Critical Care. Director of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit for fifteen years, co-founder of the Fundación Hospital Pediátrico, awarded and recognized by the Society of Pediatrics and Critical Medicine, promoter of the University Pediatric Hospital, defender of children.
